New Music Report: Emerging Artist of the Week - Mondo Cozmo

Mondo Cozmo

Meet Mondo Cozmo. Real name, Josh Ostrander, he is an LA-based, Philadelphia-born singer/songwriter, and recently released his debut album Plastic Soul on August 4th via Republic Records.

Plastic Soul features 10 songs, including previously released singles like "Automatic," "Shine," and "Hold On to Me." Cozmo tells us of his new full-length album, "From front to back I'm really proud of it."

Mondo Cozmo decided to pursue a music career professionally because, as he tells us, "It's the only thing I know how to do." And his musical influences range from icons like Bruce Springteen, to bands like Nirvana, and many more. He tells us:

"I grew up in Philly, so I'm a big Bruce Springsteen fan. I get the [Bob] Dylan thing a lot, but I don't see it. I also like 90s like -- anything from '94, like Brit pop, [and] Nirvana. Stuff like that just gets me going. So, I'm kind of all over the place. Kind of a mess."

Fans can currently catch Mondo Cozmo on tour in cities all across the country. As he tells us, although he's based in Los Angeles: "I live in a van pretty much, because I'm on tour." Check out his tour dates HERE.
